Equipment Available through TDDP—Pennsylvania's Telecommunications Device Distribution Program
The following are pictures and descriptions of equipment available through Pennsylvania's Telecommunication Device Distribution Program (TDDP). Each device includes a suggestion of who can benefit. However, every individual is different and has unique needs. And remember, the actual applications may go beyond these suggestions. If you are unsure of which device to request from TDDP, it is strongly suggested that you borrow the device for a trial period from Pennsylvania's Assistive Technology Lending Library.
The inventory codes for the Assistive Technology Lending Library are included in the device description for your convenience when completing the Assistive Technology Lending Library Device Loan Request form. Equipment Description
The Superprint 4425A has a built-in 24-character printer with date and time stamp for recording conversations. Call progress tells you if the phone you are calling is ringing or busy and TTY announcer tells hearing callers you are using a TTY. It features: direct connect, a built-in ring flasher, auto-busy redial, three way calling, 32K memory, TTY transfer, and auto-answer which takes messages when user is unavailable.

Equipment Name: Superprint Pro80 TTY w/ Large Visual Display (Blue-Green; Rose-Red; or Amber LVD)
Equipment Description
This TTY has a computer style keyboard, large visual display (LVD) and printer. It has built-in caller ID, TTY Announcer, and a ring flasher. Other features include: 11 "one touch" function keys, remote message retrieval, 32K memory and arrow keys for easy review of conversations.

Equipment Description
The Krown vTouch Braille TTY enables individuals who are Deaf/Blind to communicate on the phone. It has a 20 cell 8 dot refreshable Braille display. Users can choose between using the full QWERTY keyboard or using the home row keys and spacebar as a Braille keyboard.

Equipment Description
This is a lightweight combination TTY/VCO with PC-style keyboard and one touch buttons for typing commonly used phrases. It has a built-in microphone for hands-free Voice Carry Over (VCO) calls. It also has a text answering machine with programmable personalized greeting and remote message retrieval.

Individuals who can hear but cannot speak. Individuals who are hard of hearing and need to see the words the other person is speaking.

Equipment Description
This phone is a combination TTY, telephone, and handset that amplifies up to 20dB. It can be used for voice carry over, hearing carry over, direct connect and regular phone calls. It answers calls with a personalized greeting, and takes TTY messages when you are unavailable. It has a two line LCD display with backlight, a built-in ring flasher, 8 K of memory, 10 speed dial numbers, 3 emergency identification keys and a one-touch VCO request key.

Equipment Name: DynaWrite with PhoneIT
Equipment Description
The DynaWrite is a keyboard-based text-to-speech communication device with synthesized speech. It has a variety of selection methods and scanning configurations. The PhoneIT accessory is required to connect the DynaWrite to a telephone line.
People Who May Benefit
Individuals who may not be able to speak clearly using their voice. Individuals who have lost their voice.

Equipment Name: Ameriphone Dialogue Voice Carry Over Amplified Phone
Equipment Description
This phone allows the user to make phone calls with their own voice and read the replies on the built-in screen. A preset text message can be programmed to initiate quick voice carry over calling. Phone has an adjustable loud ringer, amplifies up to 26 dB and has a built-in answering machine. Other features include: a bright flashing ring indicator, oversized keypad buttons, 12 programmable memory buttons and a programmable relay service speed dial button. It is hearing aid and T-coil compatible.

Equipment Name: Captioned Telephone (CapTel), amplified
Equipment Description
The CapTel phone automatically connects to the CapTel Captioning Service when a call is made, and a text transcription of what is said appears as captions in the display window almost simultaneously. Captioning can be turned off if it is not needed. Phone has up to 35 dB amplification.

Equipment Name: Captioned Telephone (CapTel), USB
Equipment Description
This phone has the same features as the CapTel phone described above. In addition, the CapTel USB has a built-in USB port and comes with a USB cable and special software so that captions can be displayed on a computer monitor and be enlarged and adapted as needed. Phone has up to 35 dB amplification. Computer not included.

Equipment Description
Amplifies up to 60 dB and has an adjustable ringer up to 95dB. Tone can be adjusted as needed, with four settings. Features: 11 memory buttons, a bright ring flasher. It is hearing aid compatible. Optional bed shaker and wireless lamp flasher are also available with this phone if requested. Please note on the TDDP application if the bed shaker and/or lamp flasher are needed.

Equipment Description
Connects easily between the handset and the phone base and amplifies incoming calls up to 40 dB. Tone selector amplifies specific frequencies for optimum speech clarity and distinction between similar sounding words. It cannot be used with telephones that have dialing pads in the handset (cordless phones).

Equipment Description
This cordless phone makes sounds louder and clearer and amplifies up to 50 dB. It has a large backlit keypad, adjustable volume and tone settings, and a loud handset ringer with visual ring indicators. It is hearing aid and t-coil compatible.

Equipment Description

Equipment Description
This phone has large buttons with black on white number contrast for easy dialing. A bright red flashing light signals incoming calls. It has volume control and speakerphone capability.

Equipment Name: Amplified Talking Telephone, Ameriphone Dialogue JV35
Equipment Description
This phone has high-contrast, large buttons with Braille embossing on the keys. There are also three one-touch programmable emergency buttons. An electronic voice calls out each number as it is dialed (this feature can be turned off). A person can use their own voice to record their own button announcements. It can amplify up to 37dB, has a bright ring flasher and adjustable tone and ringer (95 dB).

Equipment Description
This device connects between the telephone base and phone line, and allows the user to make a call by simply speaking the other person's name. Up to 60 name/number entries can be programmed. The unit's verbal prompts guide the user through the setup sequence.

Equipment Description
This speakerphone gives "one-touch" access to dialing, answering, and memory scanning functions from up to 40 feet away. Phone can be dialed by using the one touch number, the wireless remote control, or a connected pillow or air switch. The voice activated feature allows the phone to be answered by voice. A handset or headset can be plugged in for privacy. Please note on the TDDP application if the pillow switch, air switch, lapel mic or headset mic are needed.

Equipment Description
Equipment description: A pocket size single-line telephone that offers hands-free convenience and comfort. It comes with a convertible 2 in 1 headset for over-the-head stability or over-the-ear convenience as well as a belt/clothing clip. Its features include: a noise-canceling microphone for superior sound clarity, 10-number speed dial, and an in-use indicator light, which flashes to show others that you are on the phone.

Equipment Description
Anti-stuttering telephone device that plugs directly into the phone. It works by providing Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) and Frequency-shifted Auditory Feedback (FAF) which may improve the speaker's fluency. The caller's voice is heard in either the provided headset or the telephone’s handset receiver. System also has background noise reduction.

Equipment Description
The LTD Signaler plugs directly into the telephone line and alerts user of an incoming call by flashing a plugged-in lamp. It has a switch so that the lamp can be turned on and off for normal room lighting.

Equipment Name: Vibrating Signaler, OmniPage Kit (receiver shown)
Equipment Description
A telephone alert system about the size of a pager. Receiver easily clips onto a belt or pocket. When the phone rings, the transmitter sends a signal to the receiver, which vibrates to alert the wearer of the phone call. It has an 80 to 100 foot range. The kit includes the transmitter and the vibrating receiver/pager.

Equipment Description
This signaler has a ring volume of up to 95 dB and has a flashing light indicator. Ring volume and frequency are adjustable, and different ring patterns can be set.

Equipment Description
This signaler connects to the Clarity XL50 phone and vibrates, or shakes, when the phone rings. This is only available with the Clarity XL50.

Equipment Name: Lamp Flasher
Equipment Description
This signaler includes a transmitter that plugs into the Clarity XL50, and a receiver that plugs into a wall outlet. A lamp is then plugged into the receiver. When the phone rings, the signaler wirelessly sends a signal to the receiver, causing the lamp to flash. This is only available with the Clarity XL50.
